Be an Instrument Of Peace

A bad Police Service is better than not having a Police Service at all.

In my opinion the police are doing a great job that must not only be commended but also supported. The fight to stop violence cannot be won by the Police alone. The community must be involved.‌‌However, I have observed with increased concern why the police would have to suffer all the blame for the spats of violence we have seen in the last few days.

the police are not omnipresent. They are not everywhere at the same time. Therefore bear in mind that they cannot always be right on time everywhere were  violence occurs. In their absence if not together you are there. Be an ambassador of peace.

I have said this time and again.‌‌Peace and unity is the responsibility of all of us.‌‌The only reason you think the police are not helping us is because you assume that it is their sole responsibility to ensure peace.‌‌Yes, they have a role to play, so does the community.

Let us be responsible for our peace. stop the blame game. it will not help solve the problem of violence.‌‌To the police keep doing your best we count on you for what we are not able to do in this fight against violence. However in the discharge of your duties don't let uncontrolled emotions drive you. Remain professional.‌‌To the rest of us, let us be  alert and report every form of violence .
