Patson DAKA, Zambia’s Next Superstar

Patson Daka is a supremely gifted footballer. He has strength, speed and skill on the field of play. His height also ensures that he can head the ball or at least, compete with opposing players for aerial dominance. Mr. Daka is what knowledgeable observers refer to as a forward; a player capable of playing anywhere in the attack of a team, although his best position is that of a striker.

He has played for a handful of Zambian clubs including Nchanga Rangers FC, Power Dynamos FC, Green Buffaloes and Kafue Celtic FC. In 2017, his talents were recognised by former Mali international striker Frederic Kanoute, whose management company oversaw his transfer from Kafue Celtic FC to RB Salzburg. The latter club is Austrian footballing giants with ties to the Red Bull energy drink brand. Indeed, both Daka and his fellow countrymen Enock Mwepu have shone with the Austrian club.

Last season, he scored a staggering 27 goals in all competitions, and he already has 12 to his name this season. He is a strong enough to fend off the attention of opposing defenders, but also intelligent enough to know where to be on the field.

Daka is also a fast player. speed makes a striker difficult to mark and he is no exception to this rule. As watchers of the game will tell you, defenders hate playing against quick players.

Daka`s performances have caught the eye of teams in the English premier league, with Tottenham Hotspur rumoured to be monitoring his progress. A move to England, Italy or Spain will eventually come, and it is only a matter of time until the world knows Zambia’s next superstar; Patson Daka.
