Last Thursday Mrs Ngowani, wife to Mpongwe Member of Parliament Hon Ngowani Gregory was among the recipients of the Constituency Development Fund Loan in Mpongwe.
The MP's decision to award a CDF LOAN to his wife has raised concerns regarding the transparency and accountability of the allocation process.
However, Mpongwe MP Hon Gregory Ngowani in a statement made available to Southern Classic Media said Loans under CDF are meant for any citizen in Zambia without any segregation. They are for individuals with small running businesses and with the capacity of paying back the Loan. CDF Loan money is revolving fund.
He said Mrs.Ngowani is a resident of Mpongwe and there's nothing wrong, illegal and selfish for her to join a group of Mpongwe residents who applied for CDF-LOAN.She is also a voter and she was among those who voted wisely Two years ago.
